The Joy of Sharing the Gospel

I am especially thrilled that since Sunday night (the last night) in the Philippines I was used by the Lord to share the Gospel to a few precious souls.

On Sunday night we were with Pastor Ally and some of his members in a restaurant overseeing Davao City enjoying a good meal and wonderful fellowship after all the ministry.

There was a binocular nearby and people were taking turns to use it. I went there and waited for my turn. The young man who was using the binocular started asking me questions. Where I am from etc. I then gave him a copy of the

"Four Spiritual Laws". When I have finished using the binocular I saw him standing nearby reading the tract. So I went over and began to share with him the contents of the tract. Amazingly when I asked if he wanted to receive Jesus into his heart, he agreed. Jimmy and I then led him in the sinner's prayer. What joy it was for us!

The next day we flew back to KL. When we got into our taxi from the airport we were surprised that we had a Chinese driver. He asked us where we came from and etc. Jimmy began to share his testimony and soon we were sharing the gospel with him. When he reached our house I asked if I can pray for him and he said yes. After praying a prayer of blessing for him I asked if he wanted to receive Jesus in his heart and he agreed. Praise the Lord! What joy it is to bring precious souls to the Lord.

On Friday night Chin Nee and I were invited with my parents-in-law to a dinner of their relatives. I purposefully took 2 tracts with me. The dinner was good and conversations around the table was meaningful. I had the oppurtunity to share why I believed in Jesus for the forgiveness of my sins. The man sitting opposite me seems friendly but quiet. I walked over to him and started to ask about him and then shared that I have something which I believed to be very important and hope that he would read it. He was keen to receive it and promised to read it. I gave him the "Four Spiritual Laws".

The host was a precious 90 year old Puan Sri who is a yet believer. When the dinner ended I took the oppurtunity to thank her for inviting us and I told her I have something to give her that I hope will bless her. I gave her "Steps to peace with God". She took it from me and said that she will read it and then kept it in her pocket. Praise the Lord!

TJILMI 25th Anniversary 2010

TJILMI stands for The Jesus is Lord Ministries International.
My last trip to Digos, Mindanao, Philippines was in 2005 and the Lord has been laying it upon my heart to go again and I decided that in 2010 I will go to Digos. I felt in my heart that the Lord has some wonderful things in store.

And sure enough we (the team of Jimmy Yong, Chin Nee and myself) had a big shock and a pleasant surprise all within a 15 mins period when we were going into the boarding lounge at the Singapore airport. At the gate I discovered I lost my passport and then suddenly I realised that I must have left in on a table that I filled in a form for a contest for fun (beware of distractions). I ran all the way back to the table as fast as I could wondering if I will be able to get to Philippines without my passport. I praise the Lord that a kind elderly man found my passport and left it with the transfer counter. What a relief! When I went back to the boarding gate Chin Nee and Jimmy were waiting anxiously. Then, as we gave our boarding passes to the stewards, they said something strange to Chin Nee. "It's your birthday today!" To that Chin Nee replied, "No, it's not my birhtday." It was only when we sat down to fill in the immigration forms do we realised that we have been ungraded to Business Class. I didn't know how to be glad as I was still trying to get over the shock of possibly loosing my passport. Anyway we enjoy our trip on Business class. We were encouraged by the Lord who was saying to us that we are HIS AMBASSORS going to the Philippines for HIS MISSION.

The ministry in the Philippines was very amazing all the way. We were invited to minister in the 25th Anniversary of TJILMI churches. Some 50 churches under this banner, under the leadership of Bishop Ally Flores came together to celebrate God's favour, goodness, faithfulness, victories and blessings for the past 25 years. Churches came as far as Tigar, about 10 hours journey by bus. A group of 30 members led by Ps Laurence came in a hired truck with almost half of them just standing on the truck throughout the whole journey. The level of excitement, energy and expectation was mountaintop! The praise and worship as always was just awesome. I personally feel that it's more powerful than Hillsongs.

The meetings began with a Youth Revival meeting on Wed night. Some 300 young people gathered to seek the Lord. The Lord used me to challenge the Youth to give their lives to God for God loves them and wants to use them. That night most of them responded to the altar call to be pure for Jesus. Some 25 youth also gave their hearts to Jesus as their Lord and saviour.
On Thur we had a whole day of pastors, leaders and intercessors conference followed by a night revival meeting. A couple from Texas USA. Ps Rodney and kathy were also ministering and we felt such a unity of spirit serving together. The Lord used the ministry time to encouraged and build up the leaders there. A very strong word came to them on the Revival meeting that they are overcomers in Christ! On Fri the men and ladies had separate meetings and it was another day of great blessings from the Lord. Chin Nee was especially blessed because the 30 gifts she bought for the Pastor's wifes were EXACTLY enough.
The Anniversary Celebration on Sat was just a big, joyful, triumphant festival. It began at 8.00 am with a motorcade. In the previous years they have a parade with banners and all. Now they have upgraded themselves to go for a motorcade. A long line of motorcycles, followed by a band playing on a truck and then a long line of cars, jeeps and trucks followed. We journeyed through the town for about 45 minutes. Many people along the streets came out to wave at us. When the motorcade ended the celebration began in the church. The hall was packed with many people sitting in the overflow tent that was pitched just in front of the church. There were dances and songs and praise and worship. The Mayor of the city was there together with government officials to congratulate them. The Lord once again spoke a clear word to the church commending the leaders and encouraging the church to follow the example of the Lord Jesus who humbled Himself to serve and to sacrifice Himself for His sheep. A most moving moment was when Ps Rodney and Kathy proceeded to wash the feet of Ps Ally and sister Marlene. Indeed Jesus was lifted high! After the service a big feast was held. A fews cows were slaughtered for the occassion. Following lunch a 2nd service was held in the afternoon with more praise and worship, the preaching of the word and also presentations from the daughter churches.
It was a most joyful and wonderful celebration.

I praise the Lord for the team of Bro Jimmy, Chin nee and myself. The three of us had morning devotion and prayer everyday. We are so encouraged that the Lord used us to be a blessing. This was Jimmy's first trip and he was a great blessing. Each time he shared, it was the Word from the Lord that blessed the people. He prepared 1 message for the trip but the Lord used him to share a few testimonies, a message to the men and a message in the Sunday service. He is now called Pastor Jimmy in the Philippines.

Overall we know the brethren there has been greatly encouraged and impacted. We are even more encouraged and impacted. More than 50 people responded to the altar call for salvation. Many responded to the Word and gave themselves on the altar of the Lord. We know the Lord has poured out His Spirit, His rain and His fire!

God is calling Youth

We (Jimmy Yong, Chin Nee and myself) came back from a most fruitful and impactful trip to the Philippines. The JILMI (Jesus is Lord Ministries International) churches celebrated their Silver 25th year Anniversary in Digos. Some 50 churches in Mindanao gathered together to celebrate God's goodness and faithfulness.
The first night of Revival meeting for Youth was on Wed 24th Nov. There were some 300 youth gathered. The praise and worship was electrifying as the Youth passionately and exuberantly worshipped King Jesus.
The Lord laid in on my heart that HE is calling and using Youth for His purposes and mission.

He is calling and using Youth who are firstly WORSHIPPERS like David. David was chosen and anointed as King when he was just a youth. But as a youth he has a heart of worship for God. David loved and treasured the presence of God more that anything else, in fact more than his life itself.

God is also calling Youth who will keep themselves pure for God like Daniel. Daniel in his youth has already purposed in his heart that he will not defile himself with the sinful food of the world (like sexual lusts, rebellion, uncleanness and violence). Daniel 1:8.

God is calling Youth who will keep themselves righteous like Joseph even though he was all alone in a pagan nation having been betrayed by his own brothers. Joseph experienced that no matter how adversed his conditions may be THE LORD IS FOR him. The Lord is for him despite family members who are against him, despite Potiphar's wife who lusted after him and accused him of raping her and despite the kings' cupbearer who forgot him after he helped him. Joseph had God for him. And Jeseph feared God and would not sin against Him.

God is calling Youth who will be submissive and obedient like Esther. Even though she was an orphan she was submissive to Mordecai who raised her up. Esther became the Queen of the most powerful empire during her time in her youth. She is beautiful, brave and most of all God fearing. She knows how to fast and pray to turn a crisis into a triumph. When we think of her we remember her statement of bold sacrificial faith, "if I perish I perish!"

With that I gave an altar call for Youth to respond to God's call.
Specifically I called for Youth who will keep themselves pure in a dark sinful world so that God can use them. Many responded to the altar call giving themselves to the Lord to be set apart by Him as pure vessels for His use and purpose.

After ministering to these ones I felt the Lord calling for those Youth who have yet to give their hearts to Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. To that call some 25 youth came forward to give their lives to Jesus! Praise the Lord!

Meditations from Job

Job is known as a blameless and upright man who fears God and shuns evil. Although he went through so much sufferings he came forth from it as gold!

1:1 I am blameless and upright. I fear God and shun evil

1:10 The Lord has made a hedge around me, around my family, and around all that I have on every side. The Lord has blessed the work of my hands and my possessions have increased in the land.

2:3 I hold fast to my integrity, come what may!

2:10 I will not sin with my lips, come what may!

7:17 You magnify me and You set Your heart on me!

7:18 You visit me every morning and test me every moment!

10:12 You have granted me life and favour, and Your care has preserved my spirit.

16:5 I would speak in a way to help you. I would try to take away your grief.

23:10-12 He knows the way I take; when He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot has held fast to His steps, I have kept His way and not turn aside. I have not departed from the commandment of His lips, I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.

27:4-6 My lips will never say anything evil, my tongue will never tell a lie. I will never say that you men are right (when you are wrong); I will insist on my innocence to my dying day. I will never give up my claim to be right; my conscience is clear.

29:2 God watches over me. His lamp shone upon my head. By His light I walk through darkness. The friendly counsel of God is over my tent.

29:19 My root is spread out to the waters and the dew lies all night on my branch.

29:20 My glory is fresh within me and my bow is renewed in my hand.

29:22 My speech settled on them as dew, as rain, as the spring rain that quench the thirsty hearts.

31:1 I have covenanted with my eyes that I should not look at fleshly and unclean things.

42:2 I know that You can do everything, and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.

42:5 I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You.

42:10 The Lord restored Job's losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

42:12 Now the Lord blessed the latter days of job more than his beginnings.

42:17 So Job died, old and full of days.

Meditations from Daniel

Daniel is known as one who has an excellent spirit, who has the Spirit of God in him and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in him.
We too, in Christ can be blessed like Daniel.

1:8 I purposed in my heart that I will not defile myself with the unclean, worldly and fleshly things of the world.

3:17-18 My God whom I serve is able to deliver me from all dangers. But if not, let it be known that I do not bow to any threats nor serve any idols.

3:28 Blessed be my God who sent His angel and delivered me who trusted in Him. I yielded my body to Him alone and will not serve nor worship any other gods.

5:14 I am known to have the Spirit of God in me, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in me.

6:10 I kneel down on my knees and pray and give thanks before my God as is my custom since early days.

6:23 No injury whatever is found on me because I believe in my God

10:12 From the first day that I set my heart to understand and to humble myself before the Lord, my words were heard.

10:19 Greatly beloved, fear not! Peace be to you, be strong, yes be strong!

11:32 I know my God, therefore I shall be strong and carry out great exploits. I am of those who understand and shall instruct many. I am wise and I turn many to righteousness and I shall shine like the brightness of the firmanent, like the stars forever!

The Lord is my source of faith

The Lord gave this word to me.
I am the source of your faith.
Look up to me and I will give you faith.

My life in Christ is a life of faith.
(1Jn 5:4) For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.

Only a life of faith in Christ can be a fruitful and victorious life. Often our faith can run low, or waiver or wane. But remember it is not our faith. It is His faith. He is the source of faith. We can't make it up. We can't produce it. We have to receive it from HIM! He will help me to have faith. He will give me faith to cause me to be victorious.

Psa 121:2 My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

What should I do knowing that my help comes from HIM? I need His help to give me faith to see me through life's challenges, faith to gain victory in spiritual battles, faith to bring fruitfulness in all my endeavours, faith for everything I do whether for my family, for my ministry, for relationships and for work.

Psa 121:1 I lift up my eyes (TO HIM) to the hills. From where does my help come?

Look at what the Lord promised!

v 3 He will not let my foot be moved; he who keeps me will not slumber.
v 4 He will be on my right hand.
v 7 The LORD will keep me from all evil; he will keep my life.
v 8 The LORD will keep my going out and my coming in from this time forth and forevermore.

Let's keep our eyes and heart on HIM the source of our faith and our everything!

Not Just Doing The Right Things

Haggai 2:10-19

How many of us have been told that we must do the right things?
Yes, that is absolutely true!
We can't be doing the wrong things and expect to be blessed by the Lord.

What are some right things we should be doing?
For men, it is to work.
For students it is to study.

For Christians the right thing to do is to go to church on Sundays, to join a Small Group, to serve etc.
These are all the right things to do.

But how many of us felt that even though we have been doing the right things we are not truly blessed and happy. We don't have the inner peace that we are truly fulfilled.

The truth is that we not only need to do the right things we need to do it with the right heart, with right motives; a heart of purity and love towards God and people.

In Haggai chapter 2, the people of God who have returned to Jerusalem after 70 years of captivity to rebuild the temple of God and the city, were doing the work. They were doing the right things.

BUT there was sin in their hearts. Haggai 2:14

Because of that they were not experiencing the blessings of God. The rain was still withheld and God's blessings were not their experience.

(Psa 24:3) Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place?
(Psa 24:4) He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully.
(Psa 24:5) He will receive blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

However God promised them that when they set their hearts right, humbling themselves in confession for cleansing and having a repentant heart, from the very day they do that, from that day forward "I WILL BLESS YOU" even though the seeds are not sown yet and the fruit trees have not yielded its fruits. Haggai 2:19

Conclusion

If you feel that you are doing the right things but you are still not at peace, ask the Lord to search your heart to see if there is any wicked ways, any wrong motives or any sins lurking in it. Then be humble, confess your sins, get cleansed and get right with the Lord. He has promised that He will bless you from this day forward!

Worship Jesus above all else

26th Sept 2010
Two Korean Christian Musicians came to HGC and shared their testimonies and music.
The Lord's awesome presence came down and touched many lives.

Bro Goh age 44 - Saxophonist for Jesus

He comes from a poor family and was a non Christian.
At 14 he was playing saxophone in night clubs.
In God’s goodness he married a Christian wife and had a son.

A tragedy struck him when he was 35. He found himself bleeding through his nose and passing out blood. Within a month he went down from 70 kg to 48 kg. Upon admission into a hospital he went down to 38 kg after another 15 days. In that lowest moment of his life he attempted suicide but was not successful. He went home to see his wife and was confronted by the cross that hung on the wall. At that point God reminded him that when he was 14 he has made a commitment to God that he will serve Him. He immediately responded to God by going into the street to play his saxophone for Jesus. That same week he went to church and he was still bleeding. The next week he went to church and his bleeding stopped and he was able to pass motion. From then on he kept recovering and till this day he has not been on medication. The Lord miraculously healed him. Even now the doctors have told him that he cannot play saxophone. But with God’s help he has been playing beautiful music all over the places to glorify Jesus. This year he has conducted 160 concerts.

He shared that he regretted not serving God earlier.
He shared that when he was healthy he did not serve God and now in such a state he is serving God.
On that I shared that when he was strong and healthy he didn’t need God.
Now that he needed God, God can use him.
God will not use self sufficient, self confident and unbroken vessels.
Now that he is weak, God can be strong through him.

Goh felt such deep gratitude to God. He expressed that he desired to kneel before God more since he can’t kneel according to the doctors.
I was very touch when he shared that if God don’t bless him, he will still serve God.
He will serve God not because God will bless him.
He will serve God because he is so thankful to God for what He has already done for him in giving him Jesus!

Goh’s theme verse is Acts 20:23-24
(Act 20:23 NKJV) except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me.
(Act 20:24 NKJV) But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

When Goh played in church today the anointing of the Holy Spirit was released in a powerful and gentle way. Many lives were touch and many were shedding tears of comfort through the music and songs.

A final word from Goh is …God is the living God! He is so real!

Lino Pak – Drummer for Jesus
Lino is 28 years old and is Korea's number 1 drummer.
He played drums on TV shows.
He currently is the CEO of an entertainment co.
He manages many Korean musical celebrities.

He started playing drums at 8.
When he was 20 he was offered to play in Europe’s top rock band at a great renumeration.
However after praying at the prayer mountain, the Lord told him to reject the offer. He obeyed and gave up the offer. Following that he fell into many trials and the worst of it was that he went blind. He was not able to see for 8 months. He had no other help but to seek God and humbled himself and emptied himself before God. He stood firm in his faith in God and despite having severe pain in many parts of his body he offered his drum skills to the Lord. He now devotes much of his time to music in Youth Ministry.
His anointed drum playing has touched and set free many young people.

When Lino played in church today many felt a tremendous anointing released.
A sister was trembling all over being anointed by the Holy Spirit. Another sister felt the anointing and was stirred to dance before the Lord.

Lino played with such great intensity.
We can see that he gave his best, his all, with all his heart to glorify Jesus.

It’s a powerful testimony that the BEST MUSICIANS find worshipping God with their best, with all their hearts, the MOST FULFILLING, SATISFYING AND MEANINGFUL pursuit in life!

ALL GLORY TO JESUS OUR WONDERFUL SAVIOUR!

Missions Convention 2010

This year's Mission Convention was a powerful and impactful one.

The theme was REACHING OUT WITH GREATER IMPACT.

Our speaker is Pastor Christine Phang who together with her husband Pastor Tony Phang went to Kenya as missionaries in 1992 when they were 28 years old. The Lord used them in a tremendous way to raise workers for churches through the Bible School that they started there in 1992. The Lord also use them to start an orphanage that began with 7 street children and now has 800 children. Then in 2000 they started a church with 20 members. Today the church has some 400 members. in 2009, after more than 16 years in Kenya, the Lord called them back to Klang, to lead the Glad Tidings church.

Amongst many wonderful stories and teachings shared I would like to share the following:-

  1. God wants us to step out in faith. When we do that the signs and wonders will follow. If we don't step out the signs and wonders will be locked up. We don't need to pray for the signs and wonders. We just follow God and obey Him and the signs and wonders will follow us.

  2. Obeying God is never a sacrifice. It is alwasy a blessing, a great blessing. On the other hand disobedience is costly. Disobedience will cost you all of God's richest blessings. Ps Christine shared how their obedience to God to go to Kenya brought great blessings. There was the blessings of children. They went there with no children and the Lord blessed them with 2 beautiful and godly girls. She discovered that she was not able to have children but through the love, support and prayers of the saints God blessed her with 2 miracle daughters, Kathryn and Vicky. Some friends shared their concern that they must sacrificed much for their children's future. But Ps Christine shared that their daughters received the best education in a Missionary school there. Their teachers are from US and gave them the best. Today they are mature, wise, loving and bold. Most of all they have an intimate relationship with the Lord. To add to that I see that God has really blessed Ps Christine and her husband with a great church of more than 1000 members in Klang as their senior pastor. Surely they experienced Matt 6:33 in their lives. Surely there are great rewards in heaven as well. Only eternity will tell the impact they made in obeying God to go to Kenya and served there.

  3. We were greatly stirred by the compassion of Jesus flowing through Ps Christine in the way she gave her heart and all for the children in the orphanage. The Lord spoke to Ps Christine that she is to treat the children in the orphanage as her own children, and to do all that she would do for them as she would do for her own children.

  4. They experienced miracles after miracles of divine providence, protection, power and great fruitfulness.

  5. In their last assignment, God opened a door for Ps Tony to teach in a Christian university and that opened the door to minister to Pastors from all over Africa who came to study.

Many were challenged to rise up for Jesus and fulfill HIS GREAT COMMISSION!

Wise or Foolish

Wise or Foolish - it's a matter of whether you have EXTRA Oil!

According to Jesus’ parable of the 10 virgins, the difference between the 5 wise and the 5 foolish virgins was that the wise had extra oil and the foolish had no extra oil.

(Mat 25:3 GW) The foolish bridesmaids took their lamps, but they didn't take any extra oil.
(Mat 25:4 GW) The wise bridesmaids, however, took along extra oil for their lamps.

That difference MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE!
It was a difference of being IN or OUT of the wedding feast!
It will make a difference between HEAVEN or HELL!

But how do you and I know that we have extra oil now.

Oil is necessary for light.
No more oil meant no more light.

Fire and light is absolutely vital in the dark, especially in the dark jungle or wilderness where wild animals roam in the dark to hunt their preys.
Spiritually we will be easy targets of demons when our lives have no more oil to burn.

WHAT IS OUR LIGHT?
If you have oil you will shine!
Jesus said in (Mat 5:14 NKJV) "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
(Mat 5:16 NKJV) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

So oil will give light and the light is our good works. Good works done with the love, hope and faith poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Good works that God has prepared beforehand for us to walk in. Ep 2:10 The good works are the righteous deeds of the saints that are described as being “arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints” Rev 19:8 The righteous acts are described by Jesus as acks of kindness shown to the poor and needy , the “least of My brethren”. Matt 25:40

HOW TO MEASURE IF YOU HAVE EXTRA OIL
Using the conclusion that light is our good works done in His name, with His love and life to help the poor and needy, a way to measure whether we have extra oil is to see if your life still continues to shine forth love and goodness after you have done some good works. If after doing some good works you don’t want to have anything to do with helping others. Or you show impatience and selfishness towards people around you, then you have run out of oil. That is, you have no extra oil in your life.
A worst scenario would be if the call or opportunity to do good works comes before us and we totally ignore it or feel no urge whatsoever to do some charity. It meant we have no oil to begin with in the first place.

HOW DO YOU GET EXTRA OIL
Jesus seems to have a reserviour of oil in His life. He seems to be continuously doing good. Even when He gets weary and tired He will still be doing good to meet the desperate needs of the poor. A main key to Him having so much oil to shine even in the darkest and longest “night” is found in His prayer life. Jesus often rose early before dawn to pray and seek the face of God. Often He withdrew Himself from the crowds and busyness to spend time with the Father. Sometimes He would spend the whole night in prayer. At the Garden of Gethsemane (which means an olive press where olives are crushed to squeeze out the oil) Jesus prayed till His sweat became like drops of blood. Oil was virtually crushed out from Him. He was collecting so much more oil, so much extra oil to perform His greatest act of love, His greatest “good work” on the cross.

How do you and I get the extra oil? By spending time in prayer with God. By humbling ourselves in total submission to His will in our lives. By being filled again and again by the Holy Spirit.

WHAT THE EXTRA OIL CAN DO
Jesus had the extra oil, in fact He had the fullness of the Holy Spirit, to give His life as a willing, loving sacrifice, as a perfect and total ransom for all the sinners of the world. He collected so much oil that on the cross, He can pray for the forgiveness of those who crucified Him. He had so much oil that He did not revile back at those who mocked Him but blessed them. He had so much oil He saved one of the murderer crucified next to Him. He had so much oil that He took care of Mary, His earthly mother while bearing all the stripes and wounds all over His body. Extraordinary? Indeed! And it’s only possible because He had the extra oil!

In the same way when you and I have the extra oil we can forgive those hurt us, cheat us, abuse us, use us and curse us. We can continue to give to them, to bless them, to help them and love them. We can still go on being good and kind even when we ourselves are suffering and in pain. Even though we may get so tired, we will still continue to serve God and others in His name.

90% Thanksgiving 10% Request

90% Thanksgiving 10% Request, this is what our prayer life ought to be, says Dr Juan Carlos Ortiz, the author of the book DISCIPLE, who was speaking at the dawn prayer meetings at the Korean Open Church in Ampang. I attended the prayer meetings which starts at 5 am every morning and was greatly blessed by the teachings. He stressed that GOD has already given us everything in Christ. He has also given us His Spirit to be with us, to be in our hearts, to help, teach, guide, counsel us to live an abundant life. He said that much of our prayers are useless because we ask God for what He has already given us.

From the teachings I asked the Lord for the following:-
  • That I will give thanks more for what HE has already given me in Christ.
  • That I will seek to know and appreciate more of all that GOD has already given me in Christ in His Word so that I can live in them fully and thank God for them.
  • That the Lord will give me wisdom to use, to apply and live out all that He has given me in Christ
  • That I will spend more of my prayer time to know Him more and more intimately as my Father and my friend
  • That I will be filled with the Holy Spirit continuously and be empowered to live the Christ life fully
  • That I may know and submit to my Lord Christ, the Head of my life
  • That I may know who I am in Christ as a member of His Body

I'm reminded of a very important verse
(1Co 2:12 NKJV) Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

O precious Holy Spirit help and teach us to pray aright!

Definition of Evil

Evil is the absense of Good! Says Kelvin Lim of ChangeYourWorld during the Tour in Sunway Convention Centre on Saturday 4th Sept.

Therefore to overcome evil in our world and make a difference, we need to do good.

All it takes for evil to continue is for good man to do nothing!

We, Christians have Christ, the "GOOD & PERFECT MAN, dwelling in us.
Let's arise and live out His life of goodness!
Let's do good. Let's care for the people around us. Let's love by helping, by contributing, by giving, by speaking kindness.

Jesus said, (Mat 5:16 NKJV) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

The Difference Our Prayers Can Make

Do you believe that your prayers make all the difference?
A difference to your lives, your families, your church, your community, your nation, your world?

Will you take prayers differently if your prayers will make a definite difference for your son’s future, for your own marriage and for your career?

Let's look into the Bible to see what difference prayers made for God's people.

PRAYERS CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIFE AND DEATH!

Num 16:41 – 48 there was a National Rebellion
The day after God opened up the earth to swallow up Korah, Dathan & Abiram and all who were in rebellion and had challenged Moses’ and Aaron’s leadership, V41 instead of falling to their knees in repentance and asking for God’s mercy, the Israelites came out against Moses and Aaron accusing them of killing the people of God
V42-45 The glory of the Lord appeared and the judgement of the Lord began to consume the Israelites.
V 45 For the second time in 2 days, Moses and Aaron fell on their faces and prayed.
V46 When the wrath of God went out, Aaron followed Moses’ instructions to take a censer and put fire from the altar and incense on it and took it quickly to the congregation to make atonement for them. Aaron stood between the living and the dead and the plague stopped. The incense (prayers of the saints) made the difference.

Do you see sinful people perishing without God?

Do you see innocent people dying in crisis and disasters?

Pray for mercy! Pray for forgiveness! Pray against death and ask for life!

Our prayers can make the difference!

The story of Jaeson Ma is indeed one that prayers made the difference between life and death.

His mother when pregnant with him, checked herself into a hospital to abort him. A Christian friend passed by and saw her. She stopped to talk with her and then told her that the baby is God's gift. She got up and left the hospital.

Pray against abortion. Ask God to stop mothers from aborting their babies!

PRAYERS CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PUNISHMENT AND PARDON!

Num 14 Refusal to enter Canaan.

The Israelites had a serious problem of unbelief and disobedience. God told them to enter the promised land but they didn’t believe they were able to. As a result they murmured and complained and sought for a leader to bring them back to Egypt. v1-4 God wanted to destroy them for their sin but Moses asked God to forgive them.
v 19-20 And now, LORD, according to the greatness of your unchanging love, forgive, I pray, the sin of these people, just as you have forgiven them ever since they left Egypt."
The LORD answered, "I will forgive them, as you have asked.

Again Jaeson Ma's story was an amazing testimony of how God turn his due punishment for his crimes into pardon. He was a thief and stole many things. After being convicted by the Lord he turned himself in to the Police. However in court after 3 sittings, the judge declared him totally free. He experienced God's grace first hand!

PRAYERS CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DEFEAT AND VICTORY!

Exod 17:11-13 – Battle with the Amalekites
The victory that Joshua and the army of Israel had over the Amalekites was as a result of Moses’ prayer. Joshua wouldn’t have succeeded without Moses lifting his hands before God with the support of Aaron and Hur on the mountains.

If Moses didn't pray Joshua and his men would have been defeated.

Parents and grandparents, your prayers will bring victories to you children and grandchildren! Pray and keep on praying. Pray alone and pray together! We all need prayer partners like Moses.

Leaders in churches, you need to pray for your children and youth. Pray for victory for them.

Victory over temptations, over worldliness, over their flesh etc.

PRAYERS CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BONDAGE AND FREEDOM!

Acts 16: 25-26 – Paul and Silas imprisoned in Philippi
Paul and Silas prayed and sang to God. A great earthquake took place and the prison doors were opened, chains were loosened. Not only they were loosed physically, the prisoners heard the gospel and were saved. They were loosed from the chains of sin and darkness.

Pray for people who are bound to all kinds of addictions to be set free.

Break the chains of addictions to drugs, to sex, to computer games, to pornography, to alcohol, to money, to gambling, to violence etc.

You will see then go free!

INDEED OUR PRAYERS CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE, therefore….
…..Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving (Col 4:2 NKJV)

Will you answer God’s call to STAND IN THE GAP to pray, pray and pray. Think of someone who is hanging in the balance between life and death….defeat and victory....bondage and freedom…. and pray for them today.

Be serious and watchful in your prayers

On 31st August 2010, the Malaysia National Independant's Day, some 250 Christians from different Churches in Ampang gathered together at Revival Centre for a time of worship and prayer for Ampang and Malaysia! There was great fervency, faith and unity in the prayers offered up to THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY! And we believe our prayers have made a difference and will make a difference!

Before entering into prayer we looked at a verse in 1 Peter to encourage and empower us all to pray.

1 Pet 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand;
therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.

  • The end of all things is at hand

Look at the current news and you will agree that the world and our nation is in crisis. But God is in control at such a time as these! HE is the ONE shaking the heavens and the earth. We need to pray like never before at such times. We need God’s help, presence, peace, power…. We need HIM! And He wants to come to us and dwell with us!

  • Therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers

These are times when God wants us to look up to Him, to trust in Him, to draw resources from Him and to be guided by Him. He will lead us through victoriously! And He is working His salvation plans on the earth! We must not panic and get frantic. We must not try to make things work without realising that He is at work! We need to pray to be in tune with Him. More than at any other time we need to be alert to pray seriously.

3 things to know as we seriously pray with alertness

  • Prayer is our priviledge

Our prayers are different from the prayers of unbelievers. We pray to God as His children. Our "prayer line" is purchased for us with the blood of Jesus, the Son of God. We don't need to wait outside the "gates", we can come right into the "study room" of our Father and talk to Him and ask Him. Ask and you will receive is His promise to us. Don't live life at this critical time without His presence and resources. We will NOT have if we don't ask. We don't have to live a "hard" life if we take hold of our priviledge to pray to HIM! Don't be too busy not to pray. Don’t be deceived not to pray. Don't let the devil rob you of your priviledge to pray. You can have great blessings and victories in life because you choose to pray. You can pray anywhere, anytime and HE WILL ANSWER YOU FOR YOU ARE HIS CHILD!

  • Prayer is powerful

When man works man works, when man prays God works!

That's how powerful our payer is. We see in the Bible that Prayer can stop rain for 3 years. Prayer can bring rain after 3 years. Pray can still storms. Prayer can open locked prison doors. Prayer can bring down high seemly insurmountable walls. Prayer can defeat gaint enemies. Prayer can even stop bullets and break chains. Prayer can heal a family, transforms a city and change a nation... BECAUSE OUR PRAYER RELEASES THE POWER OF THE ALMIGHTY GOD!

  • Prayer needs patience and persistence

This is the 10th year of our national 40 days of Prayer and Fasting for the nation. We have been patiently praying for God to transform our nation. There are increasing prayers going up to God. The prayer movement is gathering speed. We need to persist on, that through faith and patience we may inherit the promise. The Israelites were in slavery in Egypt for 400 years before deliverance came. They were in captivity in Babylon for 70 years before they could return to Jerusalem. Daniel fasted and prayed for 21 days before the breakthrough came. Elijah prayed 7 times before the rain came. We must not give up. We must pray and we must continue to pray. We must not give up half way or even 90% of the way. We must pray through to the end .... till we see something of God happening! And things are already happening!

We must continue to love

When I read the newspapers there is a sick feeling in my heart. The kinds of crimes that are happening is horrendous. Yesterday a kindergarten teacher was stabbed to death. The news reported that she fought cancer for 2 years and won but now she fought the snatch thief and was killed. "Lord have mercy! Lord we cry to You for justice! Lord cleanse our land from wickedness!"

What does the Lord have us do at such times?
He still wants us to love like He loved.
In the days of Jesus there were all kinds of crimes too.
Jesus left the comforts, beauty and glory of heaven and came to a messy, ugly, dark and sinful earth to love sinners like you and me, to love those who eventually nailed Him to a cross.

Without what He did for us on the cross we will all be condemned to an eternal hell.

Without what the early missionaries to Malaysia did for us, without what our dedicated Christian predecessors did for us, we will all still be lost and in darkness.

Let us continue to love with His love.
We can't do it without His love in our hearts.
But praise the Lord, He has poured His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Rom 5:5.

Let us continue to love because if we don't we will die!
Yes it is that serious. We will die, spiritually first and then our relationships will die and then we will end up in hell!

That's what GOD said. Read the verse below and allow the Holy Spirit to convict us!

We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death. (1Jn 3:14 NKJV)

The Identity and Purpose for My Life in HIM

As I was praying and fasting the Lord led me to consider this most important thing:-
The Identity and Purpose for My Life in HIM.

Just looking at some scriptures in the Old testament helped me tremendously.
I would like to share them with you and also for my own prayers and declaration.

1. I am created by GOD in HIS image and according to HIS Likeness. Gen 1
2. I am blessed by GOD and given His authority, His life and His wisdom to rule, to subdue and to have dominion on earth. Gen 1

8. The Lord is with me and makes all I do to prosper in my hand and I am a successful man. Gen 37
9. The LORD will certainly be with me. Ex 3:12
10. The Lord will magnify me in the sight of His people so that they will know that HE is with me. Jos 3:7
11. I will keep growing in the Lord and HE is with me and will let none of my words fall to the ground. 1 Sam 3:19-21

Going to the nations

In the 1st year of HGC, 1994, the Lord showed us at a prayer meeting a vision of a world map with arrows shooting out from Malaysia and He said, "My people in Malaysia (and from this church) will go out into the nations and be a blessing"

Since then we have been going out into the nations. I would like to record here the trips that I have personally taken with the church since then.

For those who have not been on a foreign mission trip may I encourage you to make it one of your main goals to go. To India or Philippines or Bangladesh and our latest focus to Sarawak.

GO THEREFORE AND PREACH THE GOSPEL TO ALL THE NATIONS!

Increasing the Substance of Prayer

Rev 8:1-5
Rev 5:8 NKJV ….each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
(Rev 8:4 NKJV) And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel's hand.
(Rev 8:5 NKJV) Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake.

11 years ago I was in Philippines for a mission trip.

When the ministries ended I was told the church have a morning prayer.

So I went the next day at 5am.

That morning, I had an encounter with the Lord that changed my life.

During the time of worship the presence of God was very tanglible and strong.

The pastor and his wife prayed for me and saw consecutive visions.
He first saw a fountain releasing much clear water.
Then he saw many luscious and fruitful plants and trees but all of it was covered by crystal clear water. And the 2 pictures pieced together.

The water that covers everything that was blooming was released from the fountain.

The interpretation was that the prayers that flows from our hearts are the fountain of water that is being released. And the water of prayers would cover everything and cause abundant life and fruitfulness to spring up.

I came back with a vision and commitment to pray for Ampang and our nation and to see the water of His glory and presence cover Ampang, causing His fruitfulness to thrive.

There is substance in our prayers. When we pray the water of His glory is released. When we pray incense rises to God.

And in the Book of Revelation we see that the prayers of the saints are like incense that rises to the throne of God. Apparently they are collected in bowls and then used to be poured out on earth to accomplish God’s will.

The way rain comes about is similar. The heat of the sun causes water vapour to rise to the sky. The vapour forms clouds and the clouds collected condenses and then comes down as rain. The rain would water the ground and bring fruitfulness to the crops.

Our prayers in the name of Jesus according to God's will have substance. They are never empty words. We need to know this and release faith when we pray. We are not to take our prayers lightly. They have the power to bring tremendous transformation to individuals, families, communities and even nations.

There is a very important aspect of prayer that is often neglected, and that is we need to pray with persistence, patience and endurance and never give up!
· Elijah prayed 7 times before the rain came. 1 Kings 18:41-46
· Daniel prayed for 21 days before the breakthrough came. Daniel 10: 2-3, 10-14
· Jesus prayed 3 times at garden of Gethsemane before He could face the cross Matt 26:36-46

The key verse for Malaysia National Prayer & Fasting is
if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2Ch 7:14 NKJV)

Our prayers can bring healing to our land.

Instead of our well deserved judgment because of our sins, we can see God's mercy and grace poured out in our land. And revival and salvation can flood our beloved nation.

May I plead with you to make a determined decision that you will pray more during these times of great trials. Look at the disasters that are happening everyday in the global scene. We need to pray like never before because we really need His grace and mercy.

But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. (1Pe 4:7 NKJV)
Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man."
(Luk 21:36 NKJV)
Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;
(Col 4:2 NKJV)

Therefore let us pray.

Dutch Sheets says,
We must release it. Release the river! Release the power! Release it and release it and release it and release it some more! Again and again and again!
We need committed, determined, systematic prayer not once in a while fireworks!

Make a commitment that you would cause prayers to rise to God like incense. See a vision of your prayer bowl being filled up. Commit to pray more by yourself; with your family; with Christian brethren; in church prayer meetings!

May His Kingdom come! May His will be done!

The way into His glory!

Recently the Chinese Service in The Hope of the Glory Centre has been experiencing the tangible presence of God in a very real and powerful way so much so that even yet believers who were in the service experienced God. Last Sunday 4 of them accepted The Lord as their Lord and Saviour. Why? They shared that they find that God is so real. One find herself swaying automatically and had a wonderful feeling. Another could not stand the holy presence and went to the toilet to vomit. He too accepted the Lord. And this was just during worship time before any message was shared. The Lord's glory was touching them and they gave their lives to HIM!

The way into His glory is to PRAISE AND WORSHIP HIM!
The way into His glory is to focus on HIM AND HIS GLORY!
When we sing to HIM about HIS GOODNESS, HIS MERCY, HIS GRACE, HIS TRUTH AND HIS HOLINESS - HE COMES!

When we worship JESUS - JESUS COMES!

And He did come and He touched lives and saved lives.

AND WHENEVER WE WORSHIP HIM - HE WILL COME AND GLORIFY HIMSELF IN OUR MIDST!

(Rev 4:8 NKJV) The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!"
(Rev 4:9 NKJV) Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever,
(Rev 4:10 NKJV) the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying:
(Rev 4:11 NKJV) "You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created."

A Jealous God?

Yes! God is a Jealous God!
He has the only kind of jealousy that is holy and righteous.

(Exo 20:3 NKJV) "You shall have no other gods before Me.
(Exo 20:4 NKJV) "You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;
(Exo 20:5 NKJV) you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,
(Exo 20:6 NKJV) but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

What does it mean that God is a jealous God?

We can explain this in human relationships where man is made in the image of God.

Son of a Father
A son has a father who borne him, loved him, nurtured him and gave his all to him. If his son goes out and calls another man "Father" something is terribly wrong. Either he has gone crazy or he has been deceived.
If he goes out and calls a tree "Father" or a stone "Father" he must be sick or something. This will invoke the jealousy of the father of the son. He will seek to restore him.

In a similar way there is only ONE GOD, THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, THE CREATOR OF THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH, THE ONE WHO MADE MAN IN HIS IMAGE, LOVED MAN AND BLESSED MAN.
If human beings worship an image of an animal or anything, instead of worshipping GOD HIMSELF- something is very wrong with them. It will invoke the jealousy of God.

Wife of a Man
A wife has a husband who loves her and gives her his love and affection, care and blessings.
If his wife goes out and calls another man "my husband" or an image "my husband" something is terribly wrong. It will certainly invoke the jealousy of her husband who loves her and married her.

An idol in our lives will invoke the jealousy of God.
What is an idol?
An idol is anything that takes the rightful place of God in our lives.
An idol is anything that takes the ultimate importance in our lives that belongs to God alone.

So an idol can be the love for money, for pleasures, for success. It can be our children that has become more importnat than God; or our business; or our girlfriend. It can be anything or anyone that we trust in more than God Himself.

James speaks of the sin of spiritual adultery that God's people has committed.
When God's people become a friend of the world he has become an enemy of God.

(Jas 4:4 NKJV) Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.(Jas 4:5 NKJV) Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously"?

The Holy Spirit loves us and yearns jealously for us. However when we ignore Him, neglect times of fellowship with Him, grieve Him or quench Him; we invoke His jealousy.

Last Sunday - the Lord spoke through a sister and He asked us a question.
"WHO AM I TO YOU?"
It is a very soul searching question.

His jealousy must have somehow been invoked becausE of the way we have treated HIM.

I pray you and I will take time to consider HIS QUESTION TO US.

My son, my daughter, "WHO AM I TO YOU?"

Let us not make Him jealous.
How are we treating HIM?

Let us not love or fear other things or people more than HIM.

Only HE deserves the NUMBER 1 place in our hearts!
Let's love HIM WITH ALL OUR HEARTS!

OUR LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, WONDERFUL SAVIOUR AND MASTER AND KING IS A JEALOUS GOD!

Banking on Truth

29th June 2010

What is truth? Pilate asked Jesus.
How would you answer this most important question?

I had a bad experience that I will never forget and I know it is for me to learn a very important lesson about truth.

A sub-contractor who was recommended by a friend (and I didn’t ask for enough details)
turned out to be the most untrustworthy person I have ever encountered.
He gave me many empty promises and took my money and in the end ran away with the money and did nothing for me. He cheated me.

You know what I learned.
I LEARNED THAT I WAS MOST STUPID!

To put my trust in someone who is NOT TRUSTWORTHY is STUPIDITY!

It is wisdom to seek to know the PEOPLE YOU TRUST.
It is foolish to blindly TRUST people!

If you want to do business with someone – you must know them.
You must know if they are trustworthy.

What is trustworthiness?
A person / company is trustworthy when he is true and faithful.
In the past whatever they said/promised are true and are fulfilled. On that basis, what we call good track record we trust them.

What is an empty promise?

An empty promise is an EMPTY promise
i.e. there is NOTHING in it.

If you trust in an EMPTY promise
You will definitely be DISAPPOINTED
Why?
Because you are trusting in NOTHING!

What is an EMPTY promise?
It is a promise that is NOT TRUE.
It is a LIE.
It is FALSE.
There is NO SUBSTANCE to it.

When you TRUST IN GOD you trust in what is TRUE; WHAT REALLY EXISTS; WHAT IS OF ETERNAL SUBSTANCE.

God is HE WHO WAS, AND IS AND IS TO COME.
(Rev 1:8 NKJV) "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End," says the Lord, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."
God is 100% certain past present and forever.

The devil is known as he who WAS, who IS NOT, and YET IS going to destruction. Rev 17:8,11

(Rev 17:8 NKJV) The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
(Rev 17:11 NKJV) The beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition.

Perdition = destruction

The devil is REAL. But he is going to be a was.
The devil will be TOTALLY DESTROYED according to God’s calendar and he will be NO MORE.

Holiness unto The Lord!

4th June 2010 Friday

The Lord spoke in the Morning Prayer Time -

(1Pe 1:15-16 NKJV) but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, "BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY."

(1Pe 2:9 NKJV) But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
(1Pe 2:11 NKJV) Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,

We were praying according to His Word asking the Lord to keep us Holy unto Him!

This morning Sister Yuet Ching sent an email about her devotion today. I would like to share it here. It is very sharp, precise and prophetic Word of the Lord. I took the liberty to emphasise some points.

For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God. 1 Thessalonians 1:9

What is an idol?

An idol is anything that takes the focus off God. An idol may not be limited to a religious object found in a pagan temple, an idol is anything that you value more than God Himself. Many people park their “idols” in their garages. Some dock their “idols” at marina centers. Others put their “idols” in their safe deposit boxes.
During the times of the Bible, there were three primary idols the ancient people worshiped:

Baal, which is the god of sex;

Mammon, which is the god of money; and

Molech, which is the god of violence.

While we may no longer venerate statues of Baal, Mammon and Molech in our bedrooms, isn’t it ironical that we still pay millions of dollars going to the cinemas to watch enactments of sex, greed and violence?

There are three dangers of having idols in your life:
(1) Idols will damage you.
Idolatry weakens you morally. At least 10 times in the Bible, idolatry is linked to sexual immorality, fornication and lust. It is really spiritual adultery. Romans 1:22-23 says, “Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.” Isn’t that silly? Worshiping the created rather than the Creator Himself? Unfortunately, idolatry messes up the moral compass of a person. You end up worshiping money instead of the God who owns all the money. You worship power instead of the God who is all powerful. You worship knowledge instead of the God of all knowledge.

(2) Idols will deceive and dominate you. Idolatry opens you up to demonic deception. It can’t help you. Instead, it makes you dull-hearted toward God and foolish in your daily living (Jer. 10:8). Life becomes worthless and meaningless. Anything you love more than God often ends up as an obsession or addiction. It will eventually ruin your life.

(3) Idols will deform you. Instead of conforming to the beautiful nature of God Himself, you will inevitably end up like the idols you worship. Psalm 135:15-18 says, “The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they do not speak; eyes they have, but they do not see; they have ears, but they do not hear; nor is there any breath in their mouths. Those who make them are like them; so is everyone who trusts in them.” Whatever and whoever you worship, you will end up exactly like that object of your affection. You serve a “living and true God.” Don’t settle for anything less. Don’t substitute anything false for the real. Love and worship God alone.

Something to ponder: "We do not have strong Christianity today because we do not have imperative Christianity. The early Christians did not make excuses. They just obeyed. That is a strong God, and when we obey, we will be a strong people. We are weak because we do not obey."

The Lord is with you!

3rd June 2010

Are you in a situation where everything seems to be against you?
Have you been betrayed and attacked for no apparent reason?
Are you in a place where you seem like you are all alone without a caring friend and without good Christian fellowship?
Are you down to your last ringgit and you don't know how you are going to make it through?

You may be in one or at most two of the above situations but I'm quite sure that you are not in all of it at once. Can you imagine being in all of the above circumstances?

There was a young man who experienced all of the most severe and adversed circumstances of life all at once. Betrayed and sold as a slave by his brothers to a far away pagan land.
Slogged as a slave there without family and any form of "Christian" fellowship or worship.
Seduced and then wrongly accused of committing a crime that he never did and then thrown into prison.

Yet in all of these things Joseph continued to honour God in his life. God was with him and God blessed him. He feared God and did not sin against Him. And in doing so, God was pleased with his obedient, God fearing faith and God blessed him and prospered him and eventually fulfilled His wonderful plans in and through his life.

Let's read a passage of Joseph's story in Genesis.

(Gen 39:2 NKJV) The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
(Gen 39:3 NKJV) And his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all he did to prosper in his hand.
(Gen 39:4 NKJV) So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority.
(Gen 39:5 NKJV) So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was on all that he had in the house and in the field.

In the circumstances that you are in, remember the Lord is with you! He never leaves you nor forsakes you! CHOOSE TO TRUST IN HIM AND HONOUR GOD!
Choose to think, say and do the things that are right in His sight.
God will always be on your side when you choose His will!

God wants you to succeed!
God wants you blessed!
God wants to use you to be a great blessing!

No matter how adverse your situations YOU CAN CHOOSE TO DO RIGHT!
The Lord will back you up all the way!
He will be with you!
He will help you !
He will strengthen you!

You WILL OVERCOME!
YOU WILL BE BLESSED!

AMEN! HALELUJAH!

Vision of shining Open Bible

27th May 2010

Aunty Yoke Ping who lives in Bukit Indah (from the Chinese Service who joins the church morning prayer everyday coming on her bicycle) saw a beautiful vision in the morning prayer this week. This is just after the GDOP.

She saw an Open Bible in the wilderness shining brightly through its pages!

As we prayed for the Outpouring of the Holy Spirit....
(Isa 32:15 NKJV) Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, And the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, And the fruitful field is counted as a forest.

The Lord is pouring out His Spirit and he is going to cause the Bible to open up, pouring out revelations to all God's people when they read the Word. The Holy Spirit, the Teacher, the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation in the knowledge of HIM will open up the Scriptures to us and it will be as if Jesus Himself will be teaching us. It's going to be so clear to us. It is going to shine right into our hearts!

(Luk 24:32 NKJV) And they said to one another, "Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?"

Let's get into the Word and expect the Holy Spirit to shine THE WORD OF LIFE into our hearts!
Let's be encouraged to keep reading the Word, keep memorising the scripture memory verses, keep listening to the preaching and teaching of the Word and keep spreading the Good News!

Testimony of Aunty Jessie

Last Wed night while fetching Aunty Jessie (82 years "young" aunty who was saved and baptised last year) to the Ampang combine prayer meeting I asked her how her Bible Reading was because I know that she follows the Bible Reading plan.

She told me she is now in the the month of June readings.

Wow! she is ahead of schedule reading the Bible. Praise the Lord for her! A most encouraging aunty indeed! She is also reaching out to minister to a new believer too. The other day she walked to the market to buy vegetables from a sister who came to church and accepted the Lord during our Passion of Christ movie. She wanted to encourage her to come to church!

Global Day of Prayer GDOP 23/5/2010

25th May 2010

Praise the Lord for the Biggest Prayer Meeting in Malaysia held at Stadium Malawati (Meaning Visitation) on the Day of Pentecast 2010. Thousands of Malayian Christians join with Christians of 220 nations with over 300 million believers meeting in different parts of the world to pray for world revival. The unity of His church and the Lord's awesome presence is indescribable.

We all gathered to ask the Lord for rain; for the greatest outpouring of His Spirit on the earth.
(Zec 10:1 NKJV) Ask the LORD for rain In the time of the latter rain. The LORD will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, Grass in the field for everyone.

And we have prayed and we will continue to pray ....
(Isa 32:15 NKJV) Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, And the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, And the fruitful field is counted as a forest.
(Isa 32:16 NKJV) Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, And righteousness remain in the fruitful field.
(Isa 32:17 NKJV) The work of righteousness will be peace, And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.
(Isa 32:18 NKJV) My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, In secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places,

The Lord used a man named Graham Power (now 53) who accepted the Lord as his LORD in 1999. At that time he was a very successfull businessman (he still is now). Then a year later he received a vivid dream seeing a stadium packed with Christian praying in unity for revival. He obeyed the Spirit and went on to organise GDOP. In 10 years it has grown into the greatest prayer movement in all history.

Graham is a businessman who loves the Lord and wants to serve Him fully.
It is amazing what God can do through the obedience of a man who is in love with Him and has a burning zeal of the Holy Spirit to see His Kingdom come and His will done on earth. God is indeed doing a swift work on the earth because He is coming back sooner than we think. He will use anyone no matter what background they may come from or how old they are as a Christian as long as they are fully yielded to Him. I believe that He will use many in HGC and many whom He will bring into HGC.

There were two books sold at GDOP by Graham Power (you can get it in Canaanland) that I'm beginning to read and they are very inspiring.
1. Not by might nor by power (tells the miraculous story of GDOP) - gives the vision of the church in unity in prayer (2 Chro 7:14) and how it is spreading like wild fire.
2. Transform your work life (shares God's vision for the church - believers impacting the marketplace)- shares the clear compelling vision of God for the church to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. God will use His servants doing great exploits for His glory in the marketplace to transform the nations!

I know that the Lord has heard the cries of His people gathered in unity worldwide who has prayed fervently and HE HAS ALREADY BEGUN TO POUR OUT HIS SPIRIT IN MEASURES BEYOND WHAT THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN!

Just as I was writing the above statement Jonathan Liew came into my room and shared that today in school he shared with his friends the story of the 2 wolves that I told him (illustration of the spirit and the flesh) and as he shared the Spirit of God came upon him and he prophesied about the 2nd comiing of Jesus and about God's call to repent! One friend was very touched and wants to know more!

HALELUJAH!

Yesterday I drove Chin Nee and her parents to Ipoh for a relative's funeral. At the time there the Lord led me to speak with an elderly lady and she prayed to receive Jesus into her heart!

It is awesome indeed!!

Jesus weeps with you in your sorrow

21st May 2010
(Joh 11:35 NKJV) Jesus wept.
Refer to John 11:1-45 for the full story

Jesus wept with Mary and Martha and their relatives and friends over the death of their beloved brother Lazarus. This is another incident that shows how Jesus stooped to lift up. He always comes down to our level of need and pain to indentify with us. He is always full of compassion. He feels our pains, our disapointments, our griefs and all our deeepest emotions. He sympatizes with all our weaknesses. Heb 4:15

The amazing thing is that Jesus already knew that He is going to raise Lazarus from the dead. Before He came with His disciples to Bethany He told His disciples about Lazarus in (Joh 11:4 NKJV) "This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it."

Yet when He was with the grieving, His heart was deeply moved and troubled when he saw Mary and those with her weeping and He wept with them. (Joh 11:33) He groaned in the spirit and was troubled. Only after He felt their sorrows that He then proceeded to raise Lazarus from the dead who was already dead for 4 days.

What can we take away from this?
1. Jesus feels our pains and sorrows and all our deep concerns
2. In our journey of life we can be beset with much sorrows but lets be comforted that the Lord knows everything and that He is in control
3. Some of us may be feeling the grief of the "spiritual death" of our loved ones. You are on fire for God but your spouse or your children or grandchildren shows no interest whatsoever in the Lord. It pains your heart and you have been crying inside to see them "dead".
4. Jesus intends to raise the dead back to life. Hear His command. Release it in His name.
Lazarus come forth! Call the name of your spouse or children and command in His name.
"__________________" come forth in Jesus name!!!

Jesus said, "I am the RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE!"

Halelujah! WHAT A WONDERFUL SAVIOUR AND LORD WE HAVE IN JESUS!

He gives power to the weak

19th May 2010
Is 40:28-31

Many if not most of us are faced with challenges in life that can be very trying and requires much enduring strength; strength of character, of patience, of wisdom, of faith and of enduring love.

The times when we are weak are the times when we can be strong IN HIM.
This is when we depend on Him.
This is when we humble ourselves before Him and receive grace from Him.
The Apostel Paul says, "When I am weak then I am strong" 2 Cor 12:10

Today the Lord says to you, "I give power to the weak".
Have you acknowledged today that you are weak without Him?
Have you acknowledged that without Him you can do nothing?
If you have, then indeed you will receive power from Him, the everlasting God, the LORD!

(Isa 40:28 NKJV) Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.
(Isa 40:29 NKJV) He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.
(Isa 40:30 NKJV) Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall,
(Isa 40:31 NKJV) But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

Prayer :
Lord I am weak BUT I thank you that YOU GIVE ME POWER AND STRENGTH!
Pour your love and power into my being and strenghten me that I will live in Your victories for Your glory! In Jesus name! Amen!

Stooping down to lift up

15th May 2010

In our Spirit to Spirit Communication training with Pastor TT, one of the most powerful principle that impacted me was in the message by TD Jakes when he taught that if you have not stooped you cannot speak.

I’m reminded of the story in Luke 24 about the 2 disciples who were walking down the road to Emmaus. At that time they were sad, down, discouraged, confused and lost because they didn’t know that Jesus, their Lord has risen. If we are in their shoes we will definitely feel the same. Have you felt sad, down and discouraged before? I probably have more times than I can count.
One thing good about these 2 disciples is that they had each other to walk together and talk together. I pray that you will have such friends in the church.

Then in v 15 Jesus HIMSELF drew near and went with them.
That’s our JESUS! He will come to where we are and walk with us.
But He will come so gently.
He will even come in disguise so that He will not shock us.
He is very gentle, very wise, very sensitive, very compassionate and very skillful!

He knows everything and yet He talks to us as if He knows nothing.
He always stoops down to where we are.
And that’s where He will begin.
In v 17 He asked a simple question and then He listens as the disciples talked. They seem to go on and on from v18 to v 24. Jesus only asked a two word question in between, ”What things?” to get them to talk some more.
Only after they have spoken their hearts and mind did Jesus then seek to correct them of their unbelief and then proceeded to patiently teach them from the scriptures about the truth.

Often we are confused, lost and discouraged because we don’t know where the Lord is in our lives and circumstances and what He is doing. We don’t know His promises and where we are in His plans for us especially when we are in some kind of sufferings.

And the Lord made things clear to them from the Scriptures so that they can be in the light.

When Jesus has completed making things clear to the two disciples He made Himself known and then vanished from their sight.

Then the disciples made this statement,
"Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?"

That walk and talk with Jesus sets their hearts burning.
And it was so empowering and energizing that, “they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem”.

May we also learn to do what Jesus did with our brothers and sisters who are down and discouraged.
May we stoop to lift someone up!

(Luk 24:13 NKJV) Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was seven miles from Jerusalem.
(Luk 24:14 NKJV) And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
(Luk 24:15 NKJV) So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them.
(Luk 24:16 NKJV) But their eyes were restrained, so that they did not know Him.
(Luk 24:17 NKJV) And He said to them, "What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you walk and are sad?"
(Luk 24:18 NKJV) Then the one whose name was Cleopas answered and said to Him, "Are You the only stranger in Jerusalem, and have You not known the things which happened there in these days?"
(Luk 24:19 NKJV) And He said to them, "What things?" So they said to Him, "The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, (Luk 24:20 NKJV) and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death, and crucified Him. (Luk 24:21 NKJV) But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, today is the third day since these things happened. (Luk 24:22 NKJV) Yes, and certain women of our company, who arrived at the tomb early, astonished us. (Luk 24:23 NKJV) When they did not find His body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said He was alive. (Luk 24:24 NKJV) And certain of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said; but Him they did not see."

(Luk 24:25 NKJV) Then He said to them, "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!
(Luk 24:26 NKJV) Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?"
(Luk 24:27 NKJV) And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

(Luk 24:28 NKJV) Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and He indicated that He would have gone farther.
(Luk 24:29 NKJV) But they constrained Him, saying, "Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent." And He went in to stay with them.
(Luk 24:30 NKJV) Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them.
(Luk 24:31 NKJV) Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight.
(Luk 24:32 NKJV) And they said to one another, "Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?"
(Luk 24:33 NKJV) So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem,
